Research Centre for Curriculum Studies
From conversations that Marjon had with colleagues from the UvA, possibilities such as internships and graduation projects for students in Educational Sciences and teacher training programs (ILO and academic PABO) at SLO emerged. The UvA utilizes a digital platform where students can sign up for offered projects and research questions. It's also important to note that both internships and graduation projects often take place between February and the summer, although students may deviate from this timeline. However, preparations start at the beginning of the academic year. If you're interested in supervising an internship or a graduation project, it would be helpful to outline your idea or research question in a maximum of half a page. Please send your text to Marjon (m.tammenga@slo.nl) by September 3, so she can present the outcomes to the various UvA coordinators.
The possibility of providing guest lectures by SLO employees was also mentioned by the UvA. This could occur in the bachelor's course Curriculum Studies (part of Educational Sciences) or the course Educational Design (part of the Educational Master's). It's a great opportunity to share your expertise in curriculum with students, whether it's interdisciplinary and thematic or specific to school subjects. If you're interested in giving a guest lecture, please send an email with a brief description of your proposal to Marjon (m.tammenga@slo.nl) by June 26. She will then connect you with the relevant course coordinator.
At the same time, we're also interested in hearing about any opportunities you see for collaboration in the field of education. You can supervise students in an internship or graduation assignment, or give a guest lecture, but there may be many more possibilities!
